Listed below are some of the most commonly asked questions about our farm fresh milk, home delivery and how to order our products.
Are there any Grown Hormones (rBST) in the milk?
Never! Our Farmers do not believe in them and they wil not use them.
Are there any Contracts?
No! Our quality and service keeps our customers coming back.
Is there a minimum order or delivery charge?
Yes. We require that you purchase at least four items per delivery. There is a small $1.75 delivery charge, per delivery.
Are you more expensive than the stores?
It depends on where you shop and which brand you buy -- we are usually right in the ball park on pricing. Of course, if you take into account the travel cost, time spent and the impulse items you didn't really need at that time, you'll save money in the long run with Thatcher Farms home delivery.
How long does the milk last?
The milk has a 14 day code stamped on the product and should have no problem lasting if handled correctly. a 35-37 degree temp is recommeneded (temperature is what hurts the shelf life of all dairy products).
How do I place an order?
It is very simple, with four choices to suit your family's needs:
- NEW! Order Online. Go to My Account and choose the appropriate option to either sign up for our home delivery, activate your existing account for online ordering or start ordering online by logging in with your username and password to our online ordering system.
- Call our office to set up a standard order for the same product delivery every week.
- Call your order in the day before your delivery day.
- Leave out a product list on your delivery day and the driver will fill your request that same day.
What if I am not at home?
You may purchase a Thatcher Farm (insulated) milk box, leave out a big enough cooler of your own or we can deliver to a refrigerator in your garage. On warm days, we suggest leaving an ice pack in the box or cooler to help keep the product from warming up too quickly.
Are your milk bottles reusable?
Yes! All glass bottles are to be returned as soon as possible. Just a quick rinse of the bottle, and then leave it in the box. Our bottles are cleaned and sanitized in a bottle washer before being refilled, and they make an average of 50-60 trips to the doorsteps of our valued customers. All bottle caps can be recycled, so they do not need to be returned.
How do I suspend service for a while?
Just call the office (617-696-6000) the day before your delivery, and let us know the dates you do not want a delivery and the date you want delivery to resume.

How do I make a payment?
Billing is done monthly. You will get a statement either via email or in the mail the first of each month. Just check over the bill and leave either cash or check in the milk box. You may mail in the payment as well, if you want.
Does the product menu ever change?
Yes -- at least twice a year (spring and fall). If there are products you'd like to see on the list, please let us know and we'll see if we can provide them for you.
